RPG is short for Role Playing Game and is commonly used in tabletop games and video games.
Role Playing Game means creating or choosing a character and play the role of that character.
In Nemesis, you create your characters - a superhero and supervillain - and play the role of those characters.
Forum RPGs have certain rules to them:
Topics in the RPG forums count as locations in the world you play in.
You reply to a location with what happens to your character. For example:
"Superman flew into Megacity and looked around. Sure enough, the alarm he had heard had gone off in a bank in the outskirts of the city. He dashed toward the Bank to see what was going on..."
This can also be written in a simple method:
Superman: *Flies into Mega City and looks around* Now, where did that alarm come from...? *spots a Bank* "Aha!"
¤Superman doesn't know what exactly awaits him...¤
* = Actions
Nothin = Thought
" = Speak or telepathy
¤ = Other information
Then another person can reply and move on the action
"The Joker laughed behind his screens. He was controlling the bank robbery from his hideout, but he was surprised when he saw this familiar face on the screen, "Superman!? No!"
The story then goes on from there. You may contact each other through PMs or other means and plan what is going to happen next. Or you keep going, advancing the plot without knowing what the other person is going to do next.
The key to a good Forum RPG is involving yourself with others and being creative together.
If you want to be a part of the RPG, read the rules, create a character and begin!
